“Call me crazy, but I’m doing this…” (Scott Moon, right before everything went off the rails.)
I feel I owe you, dear readers, a bit of an explanation.
They Came for Blood was conceived as a five-book series: Invasion Day, Resistance Day, Victory Day, Departure Day, and finally, Arrival Day.
In this last book, I envisioned our heroes journeying to either the homeworld of the invaders (the Fosk-ha) to get some payback or to a new world the Fosk-ha were attempting to reach (first come, first serve you alien invader jerks!) to start new lives full of hope and promise. (Please note, not all of my aliens are villains. Just throwing that out there in case you think I have something against the Fosk-ha, Ysik, Navigators, ect.)
I still have this book boiling in my imagination.
But a lot of things happened since I started TCFB.
My collaboration with J. N Chaney, The Last Reaper, was a smash hit and turned into a ten-book series. Aethon Books published my military sci-fi trilogy, Brothers in Arms (the first full series written in first person, present tense—a creative risk I’m glad I took). And I started about a dozen other stories and books because…squirrel! On top of that, I still have a full-time job and a family.
Early in my self-publishing career, I picked up a book called How to Blog a Novel and gave it a try. Sadly, I wasn’t ready for such a daunting task and the idea seemed better suited to non-fiction. Now, however, with an entire story world built up in the TCFB series, and a cast of characters I know like they were real (okay, maybe that’s scarry), I think the time is right.
What to expect:
I’ll be writing one chapter a week, maybe more, but we’ll see how it goes. These will be edited, but not to the same degree as my finished books. When all the chapters are done, it will go through additional editing, my proofreaders, and compiled into a completed novel.
Please join me in this madness. I need you as my accountability partners. One blog a week, one novel on the way, I think this plan is just crazy enough to work. Come hang out at The Moon Base (my Facebook group) for updates and other stuff. Blogs will also be announced on my web page.
